Music has been with me since I picked up a guitar at the age of thirteen. I have and always will be passionate about the music that has helped me through my life. It has been my companion when I had none, my counsel when there was none, my empathizer when there were none and my soul when I needed one. Music has and always will be an art that speaks to the heart of people. It is a voice of every generation. Most of our memories are found in the hearing of a song, taking us back to that person, place or time.

The Indie Music Community is larger than ever with the technology that allows its Artists the ability to produce and create their own recordings like never before. The internet offers a greater avenue to be heard for these Artists, but there are still limitations on reaching the mass public via the digital market. Overcoming these final obstacles for these Artists is what created the foundation in which IFI Music was established.

“Music that’s made to be heard” is the motto of IFI Music. It says what we are all about. As was stated before, the Artists can now produce quality recordings of their music from their own homes, but that does not guarantee their music will be heard past the local music venues and internet audience. There is still the need to reach the mass public, via popular media and distribution, in order to gain the chance of creating a large enough following to sustain the Artists.

A little over two years ago, due to a string of successive events, the concept of IFI Music began to unfold. After much thought and consideration, it became clear that one of the best ways to address the needs of the Indie Music Community would be to establish a non-profit organization specifically for the Indie Music Artists and their Community. After several weeks of phone calls and conversations, the Founding Board of Directors was assembled and we began the long process of paperwork and process toward getting IFI Music incorporated and established as a 501c3 non-profit. It took over a year from the point of inception, but we received our 501c3 status and began the work of our purpose.

There are those who feel that Indie Music in its purest form cannot be independent if it subjects itself to any form of structure or organization of a unifying factor. IFI Music respects and appreciates that philosophy. We are not trying to create a governing body over the Indie Music Community, but rather be a vessel in which the Indie Music Community can unite and become stronger with it’s presence in the world.

To those who stand with us in recognizing that a united Indie Music  Community can have a greater impact on the production, distribution and promotion of this excellent form of art, we thank you! We also ask that you spread the word so that the growth of IFI Music will guarantee the growth and stability of the future of Indie Music.

At this time, IFI Music has five specific projects it is working on to further its purpose.

-Expanding our IFI Music LIVE! Net-Radio Program to include more genres and cover more Net-Radio Stations.  We are also desiring to expand  into XM/Sirius  and FM broadcast  stations and organizations.

-We are in need of finances to pay for the liability insurance we need in order to begin a series of live showcases for bands to play at. Without the liability insurance we cannot produce any form of live shows, even to raise money for IFI Music.

-We are in search of at least 1000 square feet of space for IFI Music to establish office space and its permanent broadcast studio in order to expand upon the IFI Music LIVE! broadcast we are presently producing on Tuesday nights. This will allow us to cover more of the Indie Music Artists and music genres that are available.

-IFI Music is presently producing its first CD Compilation for distribution. It will be a compilation of all Indie Music Female Artists. We are excited about this project for this will be the first of many to be put into the hands of the mass public, exposing them to excellent music from the heart.

-We are also growing by establishing the first expansion chapter of IFI Music to be opened within the next few months in Ontario, Canada.

As a 501c3 non-profit, IFI Music has to show a majority percentage of its income coming from public donations. That means the selling of merchandise or alternative means of income can only be a small portion of its funding base. The only way a 501c3 non-profit can stay so is by the public showing and supporting with financial donations that they believe the mission of the non-profit is a needed and sincere cause and is beneficial to addressing the purpose it is established for.

We are appealing to you to consider helping IFI Music to reach its next level of growth by making a donation that will truly make a difference. Please, we are riding a wave of momentum in which we need to continue, but we cannot do so unless others who have the financial means catch our vision of seeing Indie Music and its Community unite, grow and be heard and GIVE!
