Declaration of the United
Community of Independent (Indie) Music
There is no secret to what gets you heard. Numbers get you heard. Voices get you heard. Unity gets you heard. From the dawning of time, whenever there has been a cause, if they had enough voices, the cause got heard. This is a simple truth.
So, it is only fitting that as a 501c3 non-profit established FOR the Indie Music Community, that we simply ask for our voices to be united under the following declaration. It's a start.
Mission Statement
The Institute for Independent Music (IFI Music) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support, development, promotion and unity of independent musicians, the independent musicians' community and its work. IFI Music seeks to offer artistic and professional resources to those outside of the major music industry, namely singers, songwriters, bands, production support technicians and others in the independent music community. It is our belief that these individuals will best be able to realize their talents fully in a united atmosphere where support, collaboration, and freedom of expression is facilitated and encouraged.
Vision Statement
The goal of the Institute for Independent Music is to increase public awareness of and access to independent music.
THEREFORE:
We, the Community of Indie Music, recognize and agree that a united effort to support Indie Music provides a strong foundation on which to implement the mission of IFI Music.
We, the Community of Indie Music, recognize and agree that a united Community of Indie Music has a greater impact on the public's awareness than prior individualized efforts.
We, the Community of Indie Music, recognize and agree that technology provides a united Community of Indie Music with the opportunity to work together and network more effectively.
We, the Community of Indie Music, recognize and agree that now is the time for a united Community of Indie Music to proclaim to the public that Indie Music is “Music That’s Made to Be Heard.”
We, the Community of Indie Music, do recognize and agree that this call to a united Community of Indie Music under the 501(c)3 Non-Profit voice of IFI Music produces a stronger, more prosperous future for Indie Music Artists and said Community.
As an Entity / Individual in the Community of Indie Music, I do hereby pledge our / my active commitment to the mission of IFI Music.
